I tried it under Windows 7 x64 under VirtualBox 4.0.4 and it seems to work well.

To see the All Users folder you need to:
press Alt – go to Tools – then Folder options – then the View Tab – Uncheck box that says: Hide protected operating system files

Minor correction: I think it should be:

Netflix starts up fine, but after a minute or two, the video freezes and audio stops playing, but the video “download amount bar” continues to download video.

Could you post your exact configuration?

Win XA: tried the .bat file fix, Slilverlight 3.0 Developer Edition SDK install (4.0 would install over it after the next Netflix start) and other solutions without complete success.

Deleting mspr.hds solved the problem under Sllverlight 4.0. Seemed too easy, so I tried it as the last resort. Thanks.

For those using Vista or a Win 7 platform, the path will be:

C:\Users\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\PlayReady\mspr.hds

It’s quite possible you may have some access denied messages pop up even though you may be logged in as a local administrator. The default owner of the “All Users” folder and all child objects is SYSTEM with not even the local administrator’s group having read access. If that’s the case, you’ll have to go to the “All Users” folder and either replace the owner with the user currently logged in (will require being a local admin) or grant full control and replace all inheritable rights down to all child objects.

Of course, you HAVE to use Odyssey to connect to wireless in the office (although that’s debatable, but I haven’t figured out the WPA-Enterprise codes), so I’ll stick with disabling the VBox adapter, so I can keep using Odyssey.

Thanks for the comments! It seems that the Juice site is down right now — I don’t know why. As for the spacing problem, apparently WordPress added a piece of PHP code between the link to Juice and the balance of my post which resulted in an added line-break after ‘for’. Good eye! I’ve deleted the code.

Regarding licensing of the concept and code please continue to submit payment in the usual manner — i.e. delivery of a large sack marked with a dollar-sign ($) filled with non-sequential, unmarked bills.

Thanks for the feedback! The instructions, as posted here, configure the Linux kernel to support drivers for the BCM4xxx chipset. The wireless encryption one chooses to use is independent of this, so I don’t see why WPA over WEP would cause a problem. I haven’t ever configured the card for WPA under Linux (yes … this is rather foolish of me), so I cannot speak authoritatively about this unfortunately.

Thanks for the info. I have been struggling with Fedora FC6 on a Dell C640 laptop with this same wireless card. But I prefer WPA.

Will either of the above procedures support WPA, or is this WEP only?
